Reminder: The ReferenceId attribute in Billed and Unbilled Reconciliation files is updated to a structured JSON format effective June 15, 2026.

Impacted audience
Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) direct bill partners and distributors.

As previously announced, the ReferenceId attribute in Billed Reconciliation and Unbilled Reconciliation files is now updated to use a structured JSON format, effective June 15, 2026.

What changed

The ReferenceId value now uses the following structured JSON format:

{ "osId": "ab12Cdef-GiJ3-ab12-Cdef-ab12CdefGiJ3", "id": "ab12CdefGiJ3", "v": 2 }

This change applies to:

  • Billed Reconciliation files
  • Unbilled Reconciliation files

Partner impact

  • Partners who parse or process ReferenceId as a string must update their logic to handle the JSON structure.
  • Billing logic, pricing, charges, and invoice totals aren't impacted.
  • Download locations and access methods remain unchanged.

Next steps

  • Verify that your reconciliation processing and reporting solutions support the new ReferenceId JSON format.
  • Review the original announcement for full details on the change and its rationale.
  • See updated reconciliation file documentation:
  • Reconciliation file fields
  • Billing scenarios for one-time and recurring purchases
